# Onboarding

> This is a one-time setup for your account.

## Overview

Onboarding takes less than 2 minutes. Please follow the steps below to get your account ready.

## Step 1: Create a MailDiver account and verify your email

If you don't have one yet, create an account at [MailDiver](https://auth.maildiver.com/register).

## Step 2: Get your AWS account ready and request production access for SES

  production access for SES, and configure your account at no cost.

If you don't have an AWS account, please follow the steps below to create one.

### AWS Account Setup if you don't have one

The AWS account setup process is the same for both Self-Hosted and Managed versions. Please follow these steps:

## Step 3: Request production access for SES

If you don't have a production access for SES, please follow the steps below:

## Step 4: Add your SES to MailDiver

If you haven't done it, it will automatically redirect you to the [MailDiver onboarding page](https://app.maildiver.com/onboarding).

All you need to do is copy permissions and paste them into your AWS account. This is a crucial and best practice, as we don't use AWS credentials to access your account. Only minimal permissions are required. It takes less than 2 minutes.
